PRECEPTOR BENEFITS
Preceptors will receive the title designation as "Clinical Preceptor" at Seton Hill University, but are not considered university employees. As a measure of our gratitude, Seton Hill University has developed a reward system for our preceptors.
Please contact Michaelene Ressler at ressler@setonhill.edu or 724-838-2459 if you are interested in receiving any of the below preceptor rewards.
You may be eligible to receive a stipend for each student rotation. You will need to consult with your employer, as some health systems do not permit their providers to receive a stipend. If you do qualify, contact us!
All preceptors can collect Category II CME credit on an hour-by-hour basis. For board-certified physician assistants, you can collect Category I CME credits through the AAPA. Our clinical team can provide you with proof to submit your hours.
For each 4 weeks of supervision of each student, you can receive a one (1) credit voucher and use up to 3 credit vouchers per semester, in place of tuition. Vouchers are transferrable to family/friends one time only and are valid for one year.
If you want to know more, a good place to start is a conversation, and we always have time for our preceptors. Email ressler@setonhill.edu to set up an appointment with our Director of Clinical Education.
